Sanitary stainless steel tanks can be used to store many different substances, including chemicals, food, water, and other bulk materials.

Stainless steel is a frequently used material of construction due to its inherent flexibility and relative ease of use. Stainless steel is also prized for its corrosion resistance and ability to resist extreme temperatures. These unique features make stainless an ideal option for sensitive material storage, in particular.

Several industries — a few of which are listed below — rely heavily on stainless steel tanks to store critical substances and materials.

  • Pharmaceutical
  • Food and Beverage
  • Dairy
  • Brewery
  • Cosmetics Manufacturing

Stainless Steel Tanks Capabilities and Specifications

Stainless Steel Tanks

A number of industrial tanks are constructed in a drum-like or cylindrical shape, with thin walls made of stainless steel. In addition to the benefits listed above, stainless steel is typically very easy to clean — one of the most important criteria in the food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries. At Highland Equipment, we also offer rectangular tanks.

Our expert team can equip stainless steel tanks with heat transfer capabilities even if the containers at hand are atmospheric. We can also equip tanks with mixing components; we offer mixers in a range of sizes, large to small, to meet specific application needs.

When working with atmospheric tanks, clients can choose between dished tops and bottoms, and/or flat tops and bottoms, and/or conical tops and bottoms.

Stainless Steel Tanks

It’s possible to have various permutations and combinations (e.g., conical top and dished bottom), allowing for great flexibility.

The exact specifications for each stainless steel tank will depend on the specific application and industry; the product to be stored, how it must be handled, how often the tank must be cleaned, and a range of other key factors will all help in determining tank specifications and features.
