Stainless Steel Pressure Vessels
Pressure vessels are carefully fabricated, enclosed containers designed to hold either gases or liquids at a different pressure than the surrounding air pressure.
Several industries — a few of which are listed below — rely heavily on stainless steel pressure vessels to store substances and materials which need pressurized containment due to their process needs.
- Pharmaceutical
- Food and beverage
- Dairy
- Brewery
- Cosmetics manufacturing
Stainless Steel Pressure Vessels Capabilities and Specifications
Most industrial pressure vessels are constructed in a cylindrical or drum-like shape, with walls made of stainless steel. This material resists corrosion and is generally very easy to maintain clean when suitably polished — one of the most important criteria in the food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
However, pressure vessels can be made in any kind of configuration, as long as they have the capacity to maintain the required internal and/or external pressure. At Highland Equipment, we offer two types of pressure vessels — shown below — to meet clients’ varying needs.
- pressure vessels for storage need only
- pressure vessels equipped with mixers and agitators
Stainless steel pressure vessels can also be used for cooling and heating when equipped with a jacket and can also be used for secondary containment when processing critical materials.
In industrial applications, pressure vessels can be used for high-pressure or low-pressure containment, depending on specific application needs.
